Obituary

Marcel A. Vincent of Bedford, NH died Thursday, April 6, 2017. Born to Emile and Aurore Vincent in Bedford, NH on April 11, 1921, he was the youngest of 7 children. He attended Manchester schools and worked in the local mills prior to the beginning of WWII.
He enlisted in the NH Army National Guard and served in Europe during WWII with the 244th Field Artillery Battalion. While fighting with the 4th Armored Division he was awarded the Bronze Star for acting in the capacity of Executive Officer, manning a four gun section, and conducting the activities of a battery of artillery with no officer present for 7 weeks. Returning from war, he was honorably discharged and settled in Bedford with his wife Beatrice and together they raised six children.
He worked for many years as a metal fabricator in the heavy equipment industry and truly enjoyed his profession.
Marcel was predeceased by his wife of 50 years Beatrice in 1993. He is survived by his six children. Thelma Pelletier, Robert Vincent and wife Sharon, Norman Vincent and wife Eileen, Irene Vincent-Eells and husband Rob, Janine Cronin and Ronald Vincent, thirteen grandchildren and nine great grandchildren, and his best friend Georgette Lambert.
He will always be remembered for his love of the outdoors and his vegetable garden which he loved to meticulously tend. He also took great pride in raising the American flag on the pole out in front of the house and giving thanks for those who lost their lives for our freedom.
There will be no calling hours. There will be a funeral mass at Sacred Heart Church on South Main Street in Manchester, NH at 10am on Tuesday, April 11th, the day he would have turned 96 years old.
