Vera (Dulavitz) DiPietro, 80, of Haverhill, passed away at Holy Family Hospital in Methuen, MA surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Peabody, MA on February 17, 1937, the daughter of the late Andrew and Xenia “Sally” (Sedlar) Dulavitz. Vera graduated from Peabody High School in 1954 having been the captain of her basketball team. She married the love of her life, the late Anthony DiPietro, in 1957. Anthony and Vera were married for 59 years before his death in 2004. Vera worked at Primrose Supermarket in Haverhill and at home raising her three children and running the household.
She was employed for over twenty years with Verizon as an Engineering Clerk before retirement. Vera enjoyed bird watching, sewing and especially cherished the time she spent with her grandchildren. She loved her family and will be missed by all those who knew her.
She is survived by her three children; Lenore DiPietro of Manchester, NH, Patrick DiPietro and wife Diane of Athol, and Angela DiPietro of Haverhill. Vera also leaves behind eight grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, her brother Andrew Dulavitz of Manchester by the Sea, and several nieces and nephews.
