New Bedford - Jose E. Velasquez, age 69, passed away at home on Monday, April 3 2017. He was the husband of Alicia (Alvarenga) Velasquez and the son of the late Salvadora Velasquez.
Jose was born in Pasaquina, El Salvador moving to New Bedford 12 years ago and worked as a Truck Driver.
He is survived by his wife, Alicia Velasquez of New Bedford; 8 children: Dennis Velasquez, Edwin Velasquez, Evelin Velasquez, Efrain Velasquez, Christian Velasquez, Sharon Velasquez, Jose Velasquez and Emerson Velasquez; as well as 13 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild and several nieces and nephews.
Jose was predeceased by several siblings.
Friends and family are invited to the Immanuel Santo Cristo Church, 123 Church St in New Bedford, on Thursday evening at 6:00 P.M. A service will begin in the church at 7:00 P.M. Burial will be at 11:00 A.M. on Friday in Pine Grove Cemetery. Arrangements placed in the care of Perry Funeral Home, 111 Dartmouth St. New Bedford, Ma 02740.
