Obituary

Joan M. (Woodman) O'Halloran, a lifelong Charlestown resident, entered into eternal life on Monday, April 3, 2017 at the Chelsea Jewish Nursing Home in Chelsea. She was 87 years of age.

Joan was born in Boston on March 29, 1930, a daughter of the late William H. Woodman and Sarah (Long) Woodman. She grew up in Charlestown where she was educated at St. Catherine's Parochial School and graduated from Charlestown High School. Joan worked for the Boston Water and Sewer Department, retiring as a manager following 30 years of service.

Joan is the beloved wife of the late John T. O'Halloran(Retired BFD). She is the devoted mother of Donna O'Leary and her husband Robert of Charlestown, Jack O'Halloran and his wife Jean of Stoneham, and Kevin O'Halloran and his wife Laurie of Stoneham. She is the loving Grandma of Katie, Bonnie, Meaghan, Bridget, Molly, Shaun, Hannah, the late Kerry and her great-grandchildren Sadie, Mia, Christian, Alannah, and Brayden. She is the beloved sister of the late Thomas Woodman.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Joan's Funeral on Thursday, April 6, 2017 at 9 a.m. from The Carr Funeral Home, 220 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown followed by her Funeral Mass in St. Francis De Sales Church, 313 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown at 10 a.m. Interment at The Veterans Administration National Cemetery, Bourne at 12:45 p.m. Visiting hours will be on Wednesday, April 5, 2017 from 4 to 8 p.m.
