Barbara G. Jarvis
Augusta, GA – Entered into rest Thursday, March 30, 2017, Mrs. Barbara Ganaway Jarvis, 75, wife of Dr. John F. Jarvis, whom she married June 1, 1963.
Mrs. Jarvis was a native of East Orange, NJ. She was a member of Hill Baptist Church and a faithful Christian. Mrs. Jarvis had a BA in Special Education from Florida State University in 1963. She taught 2 years at The Governor Morehead School for the Blind in Raleigh, NC. Her family was her life and being a mother and grandmother defined who she was. Mrs. Jarvis was incredibly selfless and was always concerned for others well-being. She was very generous.
Family member in addition to her husband include children: Gary Kenneth Jarvis of Lewiston, ME, Jeffrey Kendrick Jarvis of Fair Haven, NJ, Melanie Dawn Hathaway of Sunnyvale, CA and Timothy James Jarvis of Augusta; 9 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren and brother: George K. Ganaway, MD of Atlanta, GA. She was preceded in death by her parents and daughter, Jennifer Tara Jarvis.
A memorial service will be Monday, April 3, 2017, 3:00 P.M. at Hill Baptist Church with Rev. Fred Gunter officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at the church.
