Lawrence – Ann Cathrine (Byrne) Caulfield, 76 of Lawrence, passed away on Monday, March 27, 2017 at Mary Immaculate Nursing and Restorative Center in Lawrence, surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Boston on December 17, 1940, she was the daughter of Simon and Delia (Caulfield) Byrne. She graduated from Cardinal Cushing High School. She worked as a clerk for General Electric in Burlington for over 10 years and then as a secretary at the Mary Immaculate Nursing Home in Lawrence for 3 years until her retirement in 2003. Ann enjoyed spending time with her family and going out for dinners. She was also an avid Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots fan. She was a proud daughter of Irish Immigrants and celebrated her Irish heritage.
Ann will be deeply missed by her sister, Theresa Cochis of London, KY; sister-in-law Gertrude Byrne of Springfield, MA; several nieces and nephews; and her loving friend, Kathleen Garrigan of Lawrence. She is predeceased by four brothers, Paul, Robert, John, and Frank Byrne and a sister, Mary Purcell.
Family and friends will honor and celebrate Ann’s life by gathering for her calling hours which will take place on Saturday, April 1, 2017 from 9:30-10:30 AM at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home, 233 Lawrence Street, Methuen. Her Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Saturday at 11AM at St. Monica’s Church in Methuen. Burial will private and at the convenience of the family.
The family has requested, in Ann’s honor, memorial contributions be made to the National Kidney Foundation, 85 Astor Avenue, Suite 2, Norwood, MA 02062 or to the Pastoral Care Department of Mary Immaculate Nursing Home, 172 Lawrence Street, Lawrence, MA 01841. The family would like to thank the staff of Mary Immaculate for their loving care of Ann.
