Obituary




David A. Pimental, Sr., age 81 of Taunton, passed away on March 28, 2017 at Morton Hospital after a brief illness.

He was the beloved husband of Louise M. (Barber) Pimental.
David was born in Taunton, a son of the late Anthony and Florentine (Castro) Pimental.

Before retirement, Mr. Pimental was employed for over 38 years by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, Department of Developmental Services, at the Paul A. Dever State School.
He was a Taunton High School graduate of the class of 1953 where he was a standout baseball player. He proudly served his country with the Army from 1957-1959. David was a past member of the P.A.C.C. and for many years coached youth sports in Taunton.

David also for years enjoyed the on-air discussions on WVBF Radio where he was a frequent contributor. He enjoyed traveling with his wife and family. Most of all David was a loving and caring person who was devoted to his family and his beloved cat Molly.

Besides his loving wife Louise of over 56 years, he is survived by two sons, David A. Pimental, Jr and his companion Judy Hegeman Ashcroft and Eric A. Pimental and his wife Amy. He was also the grandfather of Cara Pimental and brother of Kenneth Pimental as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Mr. Pimental’s funeral with visitation will be held on Saturday, April 1, 2017 at 8 am from the Silva Funeral Home 80 Broadway (at Saint Mary’s Square) in Taunton, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am in Saint Anthony’s Church, School St, Taunton.

Interment will follow in Saint Joseph Cemetery.
