Doris Ann (McDermott) Roderick, 88, of Taunton, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 27th. She was the wife of the late Joseph Roderick, daughter of the late Joseph and Anna (Guillemette) McDermott and sister of the late Evelyn Ghenes. Doris worked at Glenwood Range Company and Reed and Barton of Taunton. She lived in the Weir Village section of Taunton. An active parishioner of the former Sacred Heart Church, she served as Eucharistic Minister and was awarded the Marian Medal for her dedicated service. Doris was a board member of the Taunton Girls Club, a member of the St. Vincent De Paul and the Women’s Guild of Annunciation of the Lord Church. Doris is survived by a loving family who she cherished which includes her daughters, Donna Berthelette and her husband Marcel of Taunton, Linda Rioux and her husband Ron of North Kingstown, RI and Maryann McNeil of Taunton; grandchildren, Mellissa Gosset and her husband Chris Cardoza of Portsmouth, RI, Timothy Berthelette and his wife Jennifer of Taunton, Verity Gosset of Portsmouth, RI, Kerri Deptula and her husband Ben of Taunton and Brendon McNeil of Taunton; great grandchildren, James Gosset, Ariana Neal, Olive Cardoza, Bryce Cardoza, and Joseph Berthelette Evirs; and nephew, John A. “Yani” Ghenes of California. Doris was blessed with a beautiful and humorous personality. She was a gift to all who knew her. Relatives and friends are invited to gather on Friday from 9:30am to 10:15am at the Silva Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, with Mass to follow in Annunciation of the Lord Church at 11:00am.
