New Bedford -Guilherme Rita, age 80, passed away Sunday, March 26, 2017. He was the widow of Maria O. (Cepo) Rita of New Bedford. He is survived by his daughter Alzira Williams, wife of Harold of Apex, North Carolina, two grandchildren: Kimberly and Devin Williams, a brother: Manuel Rita of Portugal and three nieces. Mr. Rita was a son of the late Maria (Pedras) and Manuel Coelho Rita. He worked in maintenance at the state pier. Mrs. Rita’s funeral will be handled by Perry Funeral Home, 111 Dartmouth St. A Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church will take place on Wednesday May 10th at 9:00 A.M. Burial will follow at Rural Cemetery.
