Michael Pereira, 54, of Taunton, passed away on March 24, 2017 at Rhode Island Hospital after a brief illness.
He was the beloved fiancé of Ellen M. Grainey of Taunton.
Mike was born in Oakland, California, son of Fernando Pereira and the late Lisette (Viera) Pereira of Norton.
Mike had many jobs during his life, most recently in the shipping department at Texas Instruments. He had experience in plumbing, woodworking, and landscaping, among numerous other things. Mike loved his sports, especially his beloved Patriots, and was proud to watch them win their 5 Super Bowl championships. Mike was quick to lend a hand when someone needed help, as remembered fondly by our neighbors and friends.
In addition to his fiancé and his father, he is survived by his children, Thomas Pereira, Eric Pereira, and Rachael (Pereira) Walters of New York, Niki Griswold and her husband Rick of Assonet, and Daniel Mackinnon of East Taunton.
He was the brother of Mario Pereira of East Providence, John Pereira of Attleboro, and Leanna Parker and her husband Andrew of Attleboro. He had several nieces, nephews and grandchildren. He is also survived by dear friend Heather Mackinnon of East Taunton, and her daughter Shantel Rocha of Dighton.
Visiting hours are omitted and arrangements are under the care and direction of the Silva Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, Taunton MA.
A memorial gathering will be announced at a later date.
