BEDELL - Shirley Ann Carter Bedell, 74, of Yulee passed away Sunday evening, March 26, 2017 at Baptist Medical Center in Jacksonville.
She was a native of Blackshear, GA and moved to Nassau County 45 years ago from Savannah, GA.
She was a member of The Journey Church and was a strong woman who was full of life. Mrs. Bedell invested her life in children - both her own and many others. She always found a way to entertain her family and make sure they enjoyed life. She loved music - especially Elvis and she loved mowing and taking care of her yard.
Mrs. Bedell was predeceased by her parents, Roscoe Lemuel Carter and Lois Dean Carter Harris; step father, Sammy Harris, a sister, Roxie Davis, and step brothers, John and Walter Harris.
Survivors include her husband of 56 years, Frank Carman Bedell, Jr.of Yuee, FL; two sons, Frank Carman Bedell, III (Susan) of Savannah, GA and Mark Damon Bedell of Fernandina Beach, FL; two daughters, Harriet Rushawn Bedell, also of Fernandina Beach and Brook Bedell Todd (Clayton) of Yulee, FL; two sisters, Nancy Beech (Tom) of Milledgeville, GA and Kim Jarrett of Fernandina Beach; step brother, James Harris of Blackshear, GA; two step sisters, Wanda Strickland and Pat Forriest, also of Blackshear; 14 grandchildren, Carman Horton, Christopher Bedell, Ryan Bedell, Chelsi Bedell, Shadi Bedell, Lake Bedell, Joshua Bedell, Joseph Bedell, George Thrift, Noah Thrift, Samuel Thrift, Carter Thirft, Presley Todd and Piper Todd; seven great grandchildren, Bryson, Bentley, Braxton, Jackson, Peyton, Savanna and Easton; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, March 30, at The Journey Church, 95707 Amelia Concourse, Fernandina Beach. Viewing will be from noon until the time of service Thursday at the church. Interment will follow at Green Pine Cemetery.
