Obituary

Richard “Dick” L. Boehme, Jr., 62, of Taunton, passed away on Thursday, March 23rd. Born in Taunton, son of Pauline L. (Brodeur) Gray of Lakeville and the late Richard L. Boehme, and step son of the late Morton S. Gray. As a young child, Richard's lifelong dream was becoming a police officer. He Graduated from Taunton High School in 1974. He joined the U.S. Marine Corps, serving as an MP, and then worked at the Paul A. Dever State School before completing the police academy. After working for years as an MDC Police Officer, he was honored to become a Massachusetts State Trooper, having recently retired after 33 years. He truly and wholeheartedly dedicated his life to public service. Besides his mother, Richard is survived by his sons, Christopher F. Boehme of South Carolina and Joseph Boehme of Taunton; siblings, Bruce A. Boehme of Salem, OR, Sandra M. Conway of Lakeville, Maureen “Tootie” Gray of Taunton and William H. Gray of Taunton; Granddaughter, Stephanie Boehme; several nieces and nephews and his dear friend, Fran Lawton. Relatives and friends are invited to gather on Thursday, March 30th from 5:00 to 8:00 at Silva Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, where his Funeral Service will take place at 7:00pm. Following a private cremation, interment with Military Honors will be held in Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne on Friday, April 7th at 1:30pm. Those wishing to attend the committal can meet at the funeral home by 12:00pm on Friday. Please omit flowers.
