Sylvia (Marc-Aurele) Best, of Carver, died March 19, 2017. Born in Orange, MA on April 23, 1937, she was the daughter of the late Malcolm and Mary (Parsons) Marc-Aurele.After her fathers death, her mother married Charles Hamilton who was the managerof the Orange Airport. He and Sylvia became very good friends. He taught her to fly and she soloed many times. She graduated from Orange High School, and Clark University, and began a 32 year career with the telephone company where she met her husband Robert Best. They moved to Carver, MA, where they became involved in South Meadow Village activities. Sylvia served on the Board of Directors and served as treasurer for three years. She also served on the Town of Carver Bicentennial Committee and elected to the Board of Trustees of the Carver Public Library for many terms.
She was an avid animal lover and did rescue work for many years. Funeral services will be private.
