Obituary

Barbara passed away peacefully in the company of family at the Tippet House in Needham at the age of 85. Barbara is now in the company of her beloved husband Dick, and her three sisters who passed before her. Barbara is survived by her three sons, Chris (Joan) Pleasant Hills CA, Scott (Eda) Aaronsburg PA, and Charlie Mystic CT, as well as seven grandchildren. She was born in Troy NY, the youngest of her sisters. In her 20s she traveled the world before settling in Needham for the last 51 years.
Barbara was an active member of the Kalmia Garden Club, and the Congregational Church of Needham for much of her time in town. Possessing a green thumb, her flower beds enlivened the neighborhood, and she was always ready to share her knowledge to those interested. She also pitched in her talents for the projects undertaken by the garden club. For the Church, she contributed years of service to the success of the Church Fair, organizing and creating pieces for sale with a group of her close friends. She enjoyed painting, and surrounded by her friends they created masterpieces!
Friends and family are invited to celebrate Barbara’s life at a service to be held at the Congregational Church of Needham at 1:00PM on April 8th. In lieu of flowers please consider donations to the Congregational Church of Needham, or the American Cancer Society.
