Ruth C. McNeil (O’Brien) age 92 of Canton passed away surrounded by her loving family March 26th at Season’s Hospice in Milton. Born in Brookline, she was raised in Mission Hill and graduated from Mission High School. She has lived in Canton since 1955 where she was an active member of St. John the Evangelist Church and a member of the Canton Catholic Women’s Club. She was a devoted housewife and mother and loved spending time with her family. Beloved wife of the late Leo F. Mother of Nancy White of Milford, Maureen D’Attanasio, Dorothy Kelleher, Paula McCarthy and Terri Ivanoski all of Canton, Kathy McCarthy of Mattapoisett, Leo F. McNeil, Jr of Franklin and the late Jeanne M. McNeil. Sister of Gerard O’Brien of Canton, Paul O’Brien of Norwood, and the late John “Buddy” O’Brien and Dorothy Cachelin. Also survived by 20 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren. Visiting hours at the Dockray & Thomas Funeral Home 455 Washington St. Canton Wednesday 4-8 pm. Funeral mass at St. John the Evangelist Church Canton Thursday morning at 10:30. Burial St. Mary’s Cemetery, Canton.
