Marek Piechowiak, 55, of Derry, NH and Ponte Vedra, FL, passed away Friday March 24, 2017, in Mass General Hospital in Boston, MA surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Dziewierzewo, Poland on May 19, 1961, a son of the late Stanislaw and Danuta (Majchrzak) Piechowiak. Marek was a Captain of a Fishing vessel for America Fishing Inc. He was a loving son, brother, husband, father and friend.
He is survived by his wife Dorota (Wawryszuk) Piechowiak, his sons, Mark Piechowiak and Dawid Piechowiak, his daughter, Dagmara Piechowiak, step-daughter, Cindy Olesiak; two brothers, Rafal Piechowiak and his wife Gosia, and Robert Piechowiak and his wife Karolina; one sister, Grazyna Grzechowiak and her husband Zbyszek as well as one nephew, Filip Piechowiak. He was predeceased by his first wife Malgorzata (Iwancen) Piechowiak in 2008.
Calling hours were held on Sunday, March 26, 2017 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch Street, Derry. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Monday March 27, 2017 at 10:00am in St. Thomas Aquinas Church, 26 Crystal Avenue, Derry with cremation to follow. Burial will be at a later date in the Forest Hill Cemetery, East Derry.
