Obituary

Sheridan Edward Lum, 78, of Prosser, passed away peacefully at his home in Prosser on Wednesday, March 22, 2017.
He was born on May 19, 1938 in Ellensburg, Washington to Charles and Freda (Draper) Lum. The family moved to Kennewick in 1942 where they farmed until making their home in Mabton in 1949. Sheridan graduated from Mabton High School in 1956, attended Yakima Valley Community College and worked on the family farm in Mabton.
Sheridan married Carol Kathleen O’Daniel on July 21, 1963 in Prosser where the couple made their home. In 1964, Sheridan began working for Pacific Power and Light. He retired in 1998 after thirty-four years.
He was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church, National Rifle Association, American Radio Relay League, Horse Heaven Sportsman Society, AARP and IBEW #125. He played the piano and accordion, enjoyed water skiing, working on classic cars and yardwork but most of all, loved spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife of fifty-three years, Carol Lum of Prosser; his son, Greg Lum and his wife, Wendy of Hermiston, Oregon; his grandchildren, Brandon Lum of Prosser and Tiana Lum of Hermiston; and his brother, Dennis Lum and his wife, Judy of West Covina, California. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles (Ed) Lum and Freda Lum.
Viewing will be held from 4:00-6:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 26th at Prosser Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 on Monday, March 27th at the Prosser Cemetery.
