John Costa, age 91 of Taunton, passed away on March 23, 2017 at Morton Hospital.
He was the beloved husband of Mary (Smith) Costa.
John was born Taunton, a son of the late Marion and Mary (Silvia) Costa.
Before retirement, Mr. Costa was employed with several silver companies as a silver solder.
John proudly served his country during WWII with the Navy, he was awarded with Victory Medal, American Theatre Medal Asiatic-Pacific Theatre Medal earning 9 stars. He was a life member of the VFW Post 611. Most of all John was a loving and caring person who was very devoted to his family.
Besides his loving wife Mary of over 68 years, Mr. Costa is survived by his children, John W. Costa of Taunton, Maryann Burns and husband Dennis also of Taunton and Janet Haley of Fall River. He was the grandfather of Jeffrey and Kristi-lee Archer and Sarah Taranto, great- grandfather of Maddison Woodworth. Mr. Costa was also the brother of the late Joseph Costa and the late Melinda Rogers.
Mr. Costa’s funeral with visitation will be held on Monday, March 27, 2017 at 9 am with a funeral service to begin at 10 am in the Silva Funeral Home 80 Broadway (at Saint Mary’s Square) in Taunton.
Interment with military honors will follow in Saint Joseph Cemetery.
