Duane Jon Barboza, 41, of New Bedford passed away Saturday March 18, 2017.
Born in New Bedford, the son of Donna L. (Fortes) Duarte and the late John Barboza, he lived in New Bedford for most of his life.
Duane enjoyed playing the keyboard and writing his own music.
He is survived by his mother, Donna; his children, Destin Barboza and Ariana Barboza, and their mother, Elena Robinson; his siblings, Justine Medina, Brittany Duarte, and Landon Duarte; his grandmother, Mary "Bea" Fortes; his Godparents, Carla Roderick and John Fortes; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He was the stepson of the late Cezar Duarte, and grandson of the late Paul Fortes.
His Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Saturday March 25, 2017 at 9 AM at Our Lady of the Assumption Church. Visiting hours will be held on Friday March 24, 2017 from 5-8 PM at the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford.
