Obituary

James Lewis Driskell, Age 80, of Taunton, MA passed away on March 20, 2017 following a period of failing health.

Jim leaves his loving wife Inez (Leach) Driskell of Taunton and formerly of Brockton, MA. Jim was born in Portland, ME and was the son of the late Walter and Helen (Tedford) Driskell. Jim attended public schools in Portland, ME and later college at Northeastern University in Boston, MA.

Jim served his country during the Korean War in the U.S. Air Force. He was a member of the American Legion in Brockton and the State Post. Jim worked in retail and eventually retired from New England Medical Center after 25 years of service as an Accounts Payable Manager. He enjoyed restoring old cars, and was a handyman who could fix anything.

In addition to his wife, Jim leaves his children, Pastor James Driskell of York, PA; Donald Driskell of Taunton, MA; Jonathan Driskell of South Hadley, MA; and the late Walter Driskell of Myerstown, PA; and the late Timothy Driskell of Brockton, MA. He was preceded in death by his sister Virginia M. Brett of Portland, ME. Jim also leaves his loving grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Visiting hours will be held at the O’Keefe-Wade Funeral Home, 70 Washington Street, Taunton, MA. 02780 on Saturday March 25th at 3:00 p.m., followed by a memorial service at 4:00 p.m. Burial will be held in a private service at the U.S. National Cemetery in Bourne, MA.
