Obituary


Robert P. Howie 82, of Halifax, MA passed away peacefully March 20th, 2017 surrounded by his loving family.

He is survived by his loving wife Geraldine (Robbins) Howie, and their 4 children, Stephen and Patrice of Halifax, Robert and Julie of Pembroke, Kevin and Michelle of Plymouth, and Kimberly and John Bessette of Halifax. He was also survived by 9 grandchildren, Nicholas, Craig, Erin, Lauren, Austin, Kelly, Siera, Tyler, and Samantha. He is also survived by his older brother Paul and Ida Howie of Bar Harbor, Maine. He was the twin brother of the late Richard Howie of Halifax, and the brother of the late Shirley Foss, Cassie Gould, and Walter Howie, all of Bar Harbor, Maine.

Bob was born in Marshfield, Maine on July 3rd 1934 to the late Perl Howie and Marcia (Young) Howie.

He was a US Army Veteran, who served from 1956-1958 with his twin brother Richard in Germany. Bob migrated to MA and worked for 35 years at F.C. Phillips Screw Machine in Stoughton MA. Bob, along with his inseparable twin brother Richard, loved watching baseball and wrestling. He also enjoyed bowling and fishing. Bob was well known for his outgoing personality, charming nature, and loving compassion for his friends and family. “Big Boy” was well loved and will be missed by all.

His funeral service will be held Saturday March 25 at 10:00 AM in the Blanchard Funeral Chapel, Plymouth Street (Rte. 58 @ the rotary) Whitman. Burial will follow in the Central Cemetery, Halifax. Visiting hours will be held Friday March 24 from 4:00-8:00 PM.
