Dino A. Borges, age 39, of Taunton, passed away unexpectedly at home on Sunday, March 19, 2017.
Born in the Azores, Portugal on March 1, 1978, he was a loving and caring son of Jose “Fernando” and Helena M. (Alves) Borges of Taunton.
Dino spent his early childhood living in Portugal. At age nine, his family moved to the United States where they first settled in Bridgewater. He was educated in Bridgewater schools and was a graduate of Bridgewater High School.
Throughout his life, Dino was a dedicated worker with strong work ethics. He worked in the construction field and for the past five years was employed at the Diaz Construction Co. in Avon.
Dino was a well-known member of the Taunton community, where he had made his home for the past eighteen years. He was a member of the Taunton Eagles Soccer Club, was very proud of his Portuguese heritage and enjoyed attending Dancas de Carnaval.
His other past times included boating and fishing, but most importantly were times spent amongst family and friends. He will be sadly missed by all whose lives he touched.
In addition to his loving parents, he is survived by his devoted brothers Larry F. Borges and his wife Raquel of Taunton and Cesar A. Borges of Taunton. He is also survived by his girlfriend Sandra Almeida of East providence, RI, as well as his loving aunts, uncles and cousins.
His funeral Mass, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend, will be celebrated on Monday, March 27th at 10:00 A.M. in St. Anthony’s Church, 126 School St., Taunton. Burial will follow at Mayflower Hill Cemetery in Taunton.
Visiting hours will be held on Sunday, March 26th from 4:00-7:00 P.M. at the Taunton Funeral Home, 8 Crapo St. (Off Route 140, Tremont St.) Taunton.
