Auburn – Rita M. (Johnson) Darche, 91, a lifelong resident of Auburn died on Monday, March 20 in UMass Memorial Medical Center – University Campus.
Mrs. Darche was married for 44 years to the late Wilfred J. Darche who died in 1993. She is survived by a son, Michael J. Darche of Aubun and a sister, Ruth A. Davis of Auburn. Rita was born in Auburn, daughter of the late Charles and Laura (LaPrade) Johnson.
Mrs. Darche graduated from Auburn High School. She was a member of St. Joseph’s Church and was an avid reader.
The funeral will be held on Friday, March 24 from the Alfred Roy & Sons Funeral Home 12 Hammond St. Worcester with a mass at 11 am in St. Joseph’s Church 189 Oxford St. Auburn. Burial will follow in Hillside Cemetery. A calling hour will be held from 9:30 to 10:30 in the funeral home before the funeral. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in memory of Rita may be made to VNA of Southern Worcester County 534 School Street Webster, MA 01570 or to the American Heart Association PO Box 417005 Boston, MA 02241-7005.
