Obituary

Robert L. Brunelli 59, of Jamaica Plain, died peacefully at his home Friday March 17, 2017, following an illness.

Born April 15, 1957 in Milford, the only son of Louis P. and Sylvia (Cote) Brunelli, he was a former Franklin resident until moving to the Jamaica Plain section of Boston in 1991.

He was raised and educated in Franklin, where he was a member of the Franklin High School Class of 1975. He continued his education first at the University of Massachusetts at Boston where he received degrees in Anthropology and Psychology. Following graduation, he then attended and graduated from Salem State College with a Master’s degree in Social Work. Robert worked for the former Arbor Hospital in Jamaica Plain for 25 years.

He enjoyed rock music, watching movies and spending time with his friends. Robert was interested in ancient history and traveled to Rome, Italy and Amsterdam.

He is survived by 3 sisters; Marilyn D. Bettencourt of Cumberland, RI, Susan A. Brunelli of Suffern, New York and Elizabeth M. “Betty” Brunelli of North Providence, RI. Also surviving are 4 nieces and 2 grandnephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral service Saturday March 25th, at 12pm in the Charles F. Oteri & Son Franklin Funeral Home 33 Cottage St. Interment will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Franklin.

Calling hours are Saturday from 10AM-12PM prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be sent to the AIDS Action Committee of Massachusetts 75 Amory St. Roxbury, MA 02119.
