John C. Meagher of Medford died on Monday, March 20, at Kaplan Family Hospice House of Danvers. A lifelong Medford resident, he was the son of the late Robert F. and Margaret (Ryan) Meagher. John proudly served in the Army National Guard, and was employed for 35 years as a machinist for the MBTA. He was a proud member of the Medford Elks, and Vice-President of Medford Pop-Warner football.
John was the beloved husband of Mary-Jane (Besozzi), and the devoted father of Kevin and Dawn Marie Meagher of Andover, John C. Jr. and Tracey Meagher, Kathleen and Scott Cullinane, Julie-Ann and Scott Anderson, Jennifer Meagher, James and Kristen Meagher, all of Medford, and Kara and Brian Losier of Lexington. He was the loving grandfather of Patrick, Matthew, Caitlyn, Carolyn and Brendan Meagher, Marykate, Meaghan and Liam Cullinane, Sean and Brigid Anderson, Celia, Conor and Drew Meagher, Jack, Flynn, Cullen and Brennan Losier, and brother of the late Robert Meagher and his surviving wife Evelyn, the late Patricia Foubert and her surviving husband Arthur, William M. Meagher, and brother-in-law John Collins. John is also survived by his mother-in-law Dorothy Besozzi of Milford and her late husband Frederick, as well as many loving nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford on Friday, March 24, at 9 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Joseph Church, 118 High St., Medford, at 10 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford. Visiting hours Thursday, March 23, from 4 through 8 PM.
