Bobby Joe Dowdy, 55, of Fitzgerald, died Monday, March 20, 2017, at his residence.
Funeral services will be held 2 PM, Thursday, March 23, 2017, at The Paulk Funeral Home Chapel in Fitzgerald, with the Rev. Steve O’Neal officiating. Interment will follow in the Waterloo Cemetery in Irwin County, Georgia. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening, from 6 PM until 8 PM, at the funeral home in Fitzgerald.
Mr. Dowdy was born September 27, 1961, in Ocilla, Georgia to the late Otis Emory & Jessie Elva Harper Dowdy. He lived in the community all of his life and was a former production employee at MDI, in Fitzgerald.
He is survived by his children: Micheal Jaylen Dowdy of Fitzgerald and William Joe Dowdy of California; three grandchildren and three sisters: Sue Handley, Carrie Guy and Levie & John Lunsford, all of Fitzgerald. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, William Otis Dowdy.
