Obituary

Alice Devuyst 96, of Old Diamond Hill Rd. in Cumberland, died March 19, 2017. She was the wife of the late Raymond F. Devuyst. She was born in Woonsocket, a daughter of the late Edgar and Albertine (Dulude) Gervais and lived most of her life on Madeleine Ave., before moving to Cumberland. She was a sales clerk for the former Lilly Baram’s Department Store for several years. Alice graduated from the New England Conservatory of Music, and spent many years giving piano lessons in her home, and at the YWCA in Woonsocket. She was a great seamstress. Alice volunteered at Mt St Rita’s in Cumberland for many years.

She is survived by her daughter Suzanne Sibilia and her husband Philip of Plainville, MA; a niece and goddaughter Jeannette Houle of Woonsocket; a niece Jeanne, a great-niece Michelle and Michael Jordan and a great-great niece Alexandra Jordan. She was predeceased by her brother Maurice A. Gervais, and a great-nephew Derek Jordan.
Her funeral with visitation will be held Friday at 9:00 AM from the Fournier & Fournier Funeral Home, 99 Cumberland St. Woonsocket, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 AM in St. Joseph’s Church, Mendon Rd. Woonsocket. Burial will follow in Precious Blood Cemetery in Woonsocket.
