Janet A. (Wade) Woods, 52, of Gales Ferry passed away peacefully surrounded by family and friends on Saturday, March 18, 2017 at W.W. Backus Hospital in Norwich. She is survived by her beloved husband, Anthony Woods.
Janet was born on July 8, 1964 at the Westerly Hospital, the daughter of Milton and Doris (Cooper) Wade.
Janet had many interests including playing the guitar, cooking, fishing, vacationing in Florida, and she loved her dog, Pete. She was also a longtime seasonal camper at Nature's Campsites in Voluntown, where she felt most at home.
In addition to her husband, Anthony, she is survived by her daughter, Jessica Murphy, of Groton, her brothers Jeffrey Wade and wife Dodie, and Jesse Wade of Ledyard, Jerry Wade and wife Lauren of Plainfield, her sister Gail Wade of Tennessee and sisters in law Shirley Wade of Griswold and Lisa Wade of Rye, NH. She is also survived by her stepchildren, Wesley Woods of Groton and Amanda Woods of Myrtle Beach, SC, along with many nieces, nephews and extended family near and far.
She is predeceased by her parents, her sister Jennifer Wade and brothers John and Tony Wade.
Janet's family will greet relatives and friends on Friday evening from 6 to 8pm at the Dinoto Funeral Home, 17 Pearl Street, Mystic. A Funeral Service will be conducted at the funeral home on Saturday at 10:00am. Burial will immediately follow in Elm Grove Cemetery, Route 27, Mystic.
