Obituary

Rita C. Knight (Beaupre) age 91 of Rockland, formerly of Milton passed away March 19th at Southwood Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Norwell. Born in Boston, she was raised in Malden and graduated from Malden High School Class of 1943. She has lived in Rockland for over 25 years and previously lived in Milton for 42 years. She was daily communicant and an active member of Resurrection Parish in Hingham where she was a Eucharistic Minister and Sacristan and also hand made all the Baptismal Robes for the infants of the church. Rita was also a very caring person who knitted gloves and hats for the homeless in Boston, baby blankets for the South Shore Hospital and Friends of the Unborn and Lap Robes that she donated to South Shore Hospital and local food pantries. She also supported the local food pantries in Hingham and Rockland and made meals monthly for Father Bill’s Place.
Beloved wife of the late Chester J. Mother of George Knight and his wife Kathleen of Randolph, Karen T. Collins and her husband John of Hanover, Chester J. “Jim” Knight, Jr. and his wife Marie of AZ, Ann Higgins of North Weymouth, Brenda MacKinnon and her husband Ed of North Weymouth, Elizabeth Lee and her husband Waiman of N.J., Gregory Knight and his wife Cathy of Rockland, Jeffrey Knight and his wife Margaret of Hanover and the late Pamela Knight. Sister of Helen Majeika of RI, and the late Conrad, George, Paul and Roger Beaupre. Also survived by 13 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Funeral mass at the Resurrection Parish 1057 Main St. Hingham Thursday morning at 10. Visiting hours at the Alfred D. Thomas Funeral Home 326 Granite Ave Milton Wednesday 4-8 pm. Burial Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the Hingham Food Pantry 685 Main St. Hingham, MA 02043.
