Shirley Gillikin
Evans, GA – Mrs. Shirley Anne Gillikin, age 81, passed away peacefully from this life Saturday, March 18, 2017, after battling colon cancer.
Shirley was a devoted mother, grandmother, aunt and friend. She will be remembered for her quick smile and laugh, her big Mammaw hugs and her “spot on” advice. She deeply loved her children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews and many “adopted family”.
Shirley was born in Norfolk, VA and moved to Evans, GA to be closer to family. She was preceded in death by her parents: Raymond and Margaret Bruns of Norfolk, VA; and two sisters: Margaret Noga and Helen Bowerman; a brother: John Bruns; and son-in-law: Dr. Steven Roth.
She is survived by her brother: Raymond Bruns; sisters-in-law: Merle Bruns and Joanne Bruns; daughter: Mary Anne Roth; two sons: Mark Gillikin and Michael Gillikin; two daughters-in-law: Angel Gillikin and Ruth Gillikin and several grandchildren: Ashley Gillikin, Kyle Gillikin, Brooke Gillikin, Hunter Roth, Haylie Roth, Emily Knutson and Daniel Knutson and a large and extended family of nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, March 27, 2017 at 11:00 A.M. at St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church, 4921 Columbia Road, Grovetown, GA 30813.
