Obituary

Rosalina Preciado, beloved wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and great-grandmother transitioned peacefully March 15, 2017 in her home at the age of 92. She has joined her sisters, Connie Ibarra and Amparo Estrada in heaven.
Born in Zacatecas Mexico to Cornelio and Trinidad Renteria, Rosalina grew up at Rancho Sespe in Fillmore. She attended school in Fillmore, and went on to Pasadena City College where she became a beauty contestant in the Pasadena Rose Parade.
She worked for Dr. William Nelson in Fillmore and the Inadomi Grocery Store as an accountant until she married Ruben Preciado in 1948 and moved to Oxnard. In 1955, they moved to Ventura to raise their family of five.
Rosalina will be remembered for her delicious apricot squares, jams, and her love of carnations. Her famous phrase "Ayeayeaye" will forever bring a smile to our faces.
With Ruben, Rosalina traveled the globe in search of blooming wildflowers. She was a board member of the American Violet Society of Ventura County. Additionally, Rosalina was a member of the Young Ladies Institute and the Alter Society and Parents Guild at Our Lady of the Assumption Church in Ventura.
Blessed with almost 69 years of marriage, she is survived by her loving husband Ruben Preciado; brother Richard Renteria; sisters Aurora Castanon, Ramona Vela and Mary Ann Mendoza; she leaves behind her children Chris (Bill) Almaraz, Anne Preciado, Rosemary (Steve) Lorenzana, Alicia Richards, and Ed (Beverly) Preciado.
She will be deeply missed by grandchildren Steve Almaraz, David Almaraz, Annie Dyess, Monica Anter, Matthew Almaraz, Teresa Almaraz, Barbara Ingrassia, Joshua Lorenzana, Sara Roundy, Nathan Lorenzana, Lauren Doyle, and Andrea Preciado and 24 great grandchildren.
Rosalina's family thanks Assisted Hospice, Elite Caregivers and the Sisters Servants of Mary for their care ad kind attention during her last days. Services will be held at 10am Thursday March 23, 2017 in Our Lady of the Assumption Church, 3175 Telegraph Road Ventura. Burial will follow in Santa Clara Catholic Cemetery, Oxnard. Reception to follow at the Knights of Columbus Hall, 36 Figueroa Street Ventura. Funeral Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the JOSEPH P. REARDON FUNERAL HOME, 757 E. Main Street Ventura.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Sisters Servants of Mary, 140 N. G Street Oxnard, CA 93030.
