Robert P. McDonough, 65, of Pole Bridge Road, Scituate, died Friday at his home. He was the husband of Cynthia (Repka) McDonough.
Born in Boston, MA, he was a son of the late John R. and Anne (Kelly) McDonough. He had lived in Scituate for sixteen years and had previously lived in Glocester.
Bob had worked at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston as an administrator before his retirement in 2009. After his retirement he worked at Block Island Navigation for two years.
Besides his wife, he is also survived by his children: Elisabeth Merchant and her husband, Bryan of Glocester, Jennifer McDonough of Warwick, Christopher McDonough and his wife, Shana of Tiverton and Sarah McDonough of North Kingston: his stepchildren: Emily Vanderburg of Salem, MA, Allison Vanderburg of Savannah, Georgia, Drew Vanderburg and his wife Elinor of Brooklyn, NY and his grandchildren: Grace McDonough, Van McDonough and Brylie and Colby Merchant, his siblings: Jack McDonough of Mashpee, MA, Marie Bennett of Topsfield, MA, Kathryn Ellis of Vero Beach, FL and many nieces and nephews.
His funeral service will be held Wednesday at 11am in the Anderson-Winfield Funeral Home, Rt 44 at Greenville Common, Greenville. Burial will be in Acote’s Hill Cemetery, Chepachet.
