Brenda (Carreiro) Souza, 50, of Westport died Friday, March 17, 2017 at St. Anne's Hospital after a brief illness. Born in Fall River, daughter of the late Charles J. Carreiro, Sr. and the late Mary A. (O'Kelly) Carreiro, she was a lifelong resident of Westport. She had previously worked as an event planner for Bristol Community College. Ms. Souza was a Communicant of St. John the Baptist Church, Westport and a member of Elephant Rock Beach, which she loved. She enjoyed listening to music, dancing and doing arts and crafts and loved her cats. Brenda will be remembered as a loving mother and a good friend to all who knew her.
Survivors include 2 sons: Cameron D. Souza of Dartmouth and Matthew C. Souza of Westport; her significant other: Robert "Stocky" Stocklinski of Swansea; 2 brothers: Charles J. Carreiro, Jr. of Westport and Steven Carreiro of Westport; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral to which relatives and friends are invited will be Tuesday, March 21, 2017 from the Potter Funeral Home at 9:00 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. John the Baptist Church, Westport at 10:00 A.M.
Calling hours Monday 5 - 8 P.M.
Interment will be private.
