Boliver “Truman” Claunch, 83, of Tifton passed away Friday, March 17, 2017, at Tift Regional Medical Center. His funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 21, 2017, at Omega Church of God with the Rev. Joseph L. Crumley and the Rev. Joseph Crews officiating. Mr. Claunch will be laid to rest at Tift Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Monday, March 20, 2017, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals. Mr. Claunch will be placed in the church one hour prior to the service.
Mikell McMillan, Dennis House Jr., Clint Garrett, Michael House, Jason Claunch and Josh House will serve as pallbearers.
Born October 22, 1933 in Tishomingo, Mississippi, Mr. Claunch was the son of the late Sylvester Claunch and Lula Mae Hill Claunch. He was also preceded in death by his wife, ErmaLean Walker Claunch, who passed away November 6, 2016; one son, Michael “Mike” Edward Claunch; three brothers, Adron “Fuzzy” Claunch, Sylvester “Coupie” Claunch and Joe Claunch; three sisters, Jean Ray, Vera Cox and Eva Richards; and two grandchildren, Kerri Tison and Amanda Claunch. Before retiring, he was self-employed in the drywall business. He was a veteran of the United States Army and fought in the Korean War. He loved his Lord, his wife, his children and his grandchildren. He enjoyed reading, gardening, fishing and hunting.
Mr. Claunch is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Roger and Shirley Claunch of Tifton; two daughters and sons-in-law, Teresa and Dennis House of Omega and Lisha and Gary Suggs of Brookfield; one brother, Jim “James” Claunch of Florida; one sister, Martha Nell Littles of Florida; eight grandchildren and their spouses, Kellie and Mikell McMillan, Dennis Jr. and Kayla House, Amy and Clint Garrett, Michael and Kristy House, Jason Claunch and Donna Johnson, Allison Suggs, Scott and Amanda Suggs and Nikki and Tom Bisdorf; and ten great-grandchildren.
