Obituary

HUDSON: Frank J. Monte, 86, formerly of Wayland, died peacefully and comfortably surrounded by his loving family on Wednesday, March 15, 2017 following a brief illness.
He was born in Brooklyn, New York on August 9, 1930 the son of the late Michele Monte and Pasqua (Turchiano) Monte.
Frank is survived by his devoted wife of 56 years, Marcella (Giovati) Monte of Hudson, formerly of Wayland. Beloved father of Michael Monte of Natick; Patricia Uy and her husband Edward Uy of Irvine, CA and Marianne Monte and her wife Lisa Carcieri of Pawtucket, RI. Cherished grandfather of Alexander and Maria Uy of Irvine, CA and Calisto Monte Carcieri of Pawtucket, RI.
Frank spent his formative years in Brooklyn, New York and attended Brooklyn College in New York. He served his country proudly during the Korean Conflict with the United States Army. He retired after 30 years of dedicated service as an Electronics Technician with G.T.E. of Waltham.
Frank and Marcella were residents of Wayland for over 31 years before moving to Hudson fourteen years ago. He was an active communicant of Saint Zepherin’s Parish, sang in the church choir and was active in many aspects of the church community. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, enjoyed cooking, baseball, history and was an accomplished artist in pastels and oils. While residing in Hudson, he was active with the Quail Run Homeowners Association. He will be remembered as a man who always lent a helping hand and for his deep faith and kindness to others from all walks of life,
The most important aspect of Frank’s life was the love of his family and the time he spent with them.
Visitations will be held on Sunday, March 19, 2017 from 3:00 to 6:00 pm at the John C. Bryant Funeral Home, 56 Pemberton Road (Off Rte. 30), Wayland.
Family and friends may gather at the funeral home on Monday, March 20, 2017 at 9:00 am followed by his Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am at Good Shepherd Parish at St. Zepherin Church, 99 Main St (Rte. 27) Wayland.
Interment will follow in Lakeview Cemetery in Wayland.
In lieu of flowers, his family kindly suggests that memorial gifts in Frank’s memory be sent to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
