McMANUS Virginia C. (Callahan) longtime resident of Marion Manor, South Boston, formerly of Roslindale, passed away March 15, 2017. Beloved wife of the late George H. McManus. Devoted sister of Mary “Betty” Lafferty of South Boston and the late John, James, and Paul Callahan. Also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
Matron for City Hall Boston under Mayors White, Flynn, and Menino. Recipient of the Shattuck Award 1986. Longtime faithful parishioner of Holy Name Church, West Roxbury.
Funeral Mass in the Chapel of Marion Manor 130 Dorchester St., South Boston on Monday, March 20th at 12 Noon. Visiting hours omitted. Interment St. Joseph Cemetery, West Roxbury.
