Obituary

SALEM – Czeslawa “Jessie” (Bachry) Konopka, 95, of Essex, formerly of Salem, wife of the late Chester F. Konopka, Sr. died peacefully at her home on March 13, 2017. She was better known as "Babci" to all who knew her.

Born in Salem, she was the daughter of the late Michael and Victoria (Jusczak) Bachry and was a lifelong resident of Salem until moving to Essex in 2005. She was a parishioner of the St. John the Baptist Church, Salem.

After completing courses at Essex Tech in the Health Assisting program, she was employed for many years as a Licensed Practical Nurse at Salem Hospital.

Jessie is survived by a daughter, Geraldine “Gerri” Konopka of Essex, 5 grandchildren: Erik L'Italien and Susan St. Pierre of Essex, Roxanne Beaulieu of Hampton, NH, John E. Beaulieu, Jr of Swampscott, James C. Beaulieu of Beverly, 7 great grandchildren: Kayla Spring, Laura Spring, Riley Spring, John Beaulieu, Alexis Beaulieu, James Beaulieu Jr. and Ryan Beaulieu. One Brother: Chester Bachry of Rancho Palos Verdes, CA and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a son, Chester F. Konopka, Jr., a daughter Karen A. Beaulieu, brothers: Alex, Walter, Boley and Edward Bachry, and a sister, Alice Coletti.

Her funeral service will be held Tuesday, March 21, 2017 at 9 am from the Full-Spychalski Funeral Home, 84 Washington Square East, by Salem Common, Salem, followed by a funeral Mass at the St. John the Baptist Church, Salem at 10 AM. Visiting hours at the funeral home are Monday, 4 to 7 pm. Burial is in St. Mary Cemetery, Salem. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited.
