Lillian (Palmieri) Ponte Mahoney had just celebrated her 100th birthday on March 1st when God called her to Heaven on March 14, 2017.
Born in New Bedford, daughter of the late Simeone and Philomena Palmieri, she lived there for all of her life. She was the widow of the late Manuel P. Ponte and Francis Mahoney and companion of Arnold “Hap” Holter.
She was a seamstress by profession, and sewing and living a healthy life were her passions.
Lillian is survived by her daughter, Barbara Bracken and her husband John of Plymouth. She was the devoted grandmother of Jonna Duvernoy and her husband Johnny of Seattle and Jaimee Chapin and her husband Geoffrey of Cohasset. She was the great-grandmother of Andrew Chapin. Lillian was especially cared for by her niece, Linda Silva, and loved by many other nieces, nephews, and caring friends.
She was predeceased by three sisters and five brothers.
Her Memorial Mass will be held Tuesday, March 28, 2017 at 10 AM at St. Julie Billiart Church, 494 Slocum Road, Dartmouth.
