Richard C. “Dick” Soncrant of S. Weymouth, passed away suddenly on Tuesday, March 14th at the age of 72. He was the devoted husband for 47 years of Ruth (Hargreaves) Soncrant, the loving father of Jason R. of Pembroke, Brian R. and his wife Rachel of Nottingham, NH, and his cherished grandson, Christopher, his brothers, William of Amherst, NH, Harold of VT and the late Robert of TX, as well as several nieces and nephews and his many friends. Richard is predeceased by his parents, Harold P. and Marion L. Soncrant.
Dick was a proud member of Ironworkers Local 7 for 52 years. He had a wonderful sense of humor, a love of life and a passion for his family. He loved playing horseshoes, going fishing and watching football with his family.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to the visiting hours for Dick which will be held at the C. C. Shepherd Funeral Home, 134 Pleasant St. (Columbian Sq.) S. Weymouth on Friday, March 17, 2017 from 5 to 8 PM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to the funeral home on Saturday morning for the celebration of Richard’s life which will start promptly at 10 AM. Burial will immediately follow in Mount Hope Cemetery, Weymouth.
