Tharia Goff Hamon, 86, of Athens, passed away Wednesday, March 15, 2017 at High Shoals Health and Rehabilitation in Bishop, Georgia following an extended illness.
Born on October 18, 1930 to the late Richmond Hobson and Floy Beulah Ireland Goff, she was a self-employed beautician. Mrs. Hamon was also a member of Putney Baptist Church.
She is survived by her daughter, Jolene Jobe of Athens; son, Gregory C. (Roxanne) Hamon of Plains; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jimmy Carroll "Cigar" Hamon.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, March 17, 2017 at Perry Funeral Chapel with interment to follow at Rose Hill Cemetery. The family will greet friends at the funeral home immediately following the service.
