Gene Hitt, 87, of Ocilla, Georgia, died Tuesday, March 14, 2017, at his residence.
Memorial services will be held 2 PM, Saturday, April 8, 2017, at The Paulk Funeral Home Chapel in Ocilla.
Mr. Hitt was born December 6, 1929, in Pickens County, Georgia, to the late Charlie & Clifora Blackwell Hitt. Mr. Hitt was a welder and he loved to shoot guns, camp, watch wrestling and loved cars. He was of the Baptist faith.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Virginia Hitt of Ocilla; children: William & Peggy Hitt of Dawsonville, Pam & Andy Patterson of Dawsonville, Terry & Luteen Hitt of Jasper, JoAnn & Jimmy Black of Atlanta, Gary & Melissa Gayton of Rochelle and Tena & George of Ocilla & Tifton; 17 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren and special friends: Bo Griner, Tom Boone, Sam Evans and Curt & Lynn Stargle.
