A lifelong Medford resident, Jane entered eternal rest on Saturday, March 11 with Thomas, her beloved husband of 56 years, by her side. The daughter of Stanley and Ellen Lavender, Jane was the consummate wife, mother, "Nanny", and friend. Jane, a nurse, enjoyed walking, line dancing, Sodality, serving her parish community, and her many friends and family. She will be remembered for her compassion, kindness, and humility.
In addition to her husband Thomas, Jane is survived by seven children and their spouses: Peter and his wife, Nancy Cahill, of Lowell; Nancy Albanese and her husband, Steven, of Medford; Thomas and his wife, Linda, of Pittsburgh, PA; Linda Calvert and her husband, Donald, of Melrose; Andrea Harrington and her husband, Timothy, of Melrose; Michael and his wife, Amy, of Danvers; and Diane Catricala and her husband, Michael, of Stoneham. Jane was the loving grandmother of 20 grandchildren, the sister of James Lavender of Melrose, and the aunt of several nieces and nephews. Jane was predeceased by her sister, Patricia Boudrot, of Concord, MA.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to visit at the Dello Russo Funeral Homes, 306 Main St., Medford on Friday from 3 to 8 PM and again on Saturday morning, March 18th at 9 followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Joseph Church, 118 High St. Medford ant 10 AM. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery.
