Belmiro I. Costa, age 87, of Fall River, passed away on Saturday March 11, 2017. Born in Rabo de Peixe, São Miguel, Açores he was the son of the late Manuel and Julia (Viera) Costa and husband of Maria Gilda (da Silva) Costa. Belmiro was a hard working self-employed mason and carpenter for Belmiro Costa General Contractor. He also enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In addition to his wife he is survived by his daughter; Belmira Costa (husband Arnaldo), brothers; Horacio Costa (wife Conceicão), and Paulo G. Costa (wife Helena), grandchildren; Jennifer Lee, Stephanie Marie and Scott Matthew Costa, great grandchildren; Braydin Maddix, Madison Costa, Raelyn Harris, and several nieces, nephews and godchildren. He was also the brother of the late Manuel, José, Adelino, Humberto, and Lidoina Costa.
His funeral will take place from the Manuel Rogers & Sons Funeral Home 1521 N. Main St. Fall River on Saturday here at 8 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial St. Mary’s Cathedral at 9 A.M. Interment in St. Patrick’s Cemetery. Calling hours on Friday from 4-8 P.M.
