Obituary

Antonio Sacco passed away peacefully in the company of his family at the Massachusetts General Hospital. He was 86. Born and raised in Mirabella, Italy, he was the son of the late Francesco and Angelina (Capuccio) Sacco.

As a younger man, Antonio worked as a blacksmith in Italy and later while living in Australia he was a mechanic. He came to the United States in 1973 and lived in Somerville before settling in Medford. He was a talented machinist before his retirement. Antonio was devoted to his family and loved spending time with his grandchildren. He enjoyed spending days in his garden taking care of his vegetables and flowers.

He is survived by his beloved wife Clara (Cercone) Sacco and his daughters, Angela Scully and her husband Christopher and Franca Sarro and her husband Richard. He was a loving Nonno to Joshua and Marcella. And he also leaves many nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Friday, March 17 at 10 AM in St. Clement Church, 71 Warner Street, Medford-Somerville. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.

Visiting hours will be Thursday, March 16 from 4 - 8 at the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford and funeral procession will gather at the funeral home at 9 AM on Friday.
