Jose R. Sousa, 75, of Hudson, died Saturday, March 11, 2017 at home surrounded by his family. Jose was born in St. Michael, Azores Portugal, the son of the late Jose Venancio and Maria Rebelo.
Jose is survived by his wife of 50 years, Maria R. (Mauricio) Sousa; his son, Jose E. Sousa of Clinton; his daughter, Filomena Gordon of Bedford, NH; two brothers, Manuel Sousa and Luis Sousa both of Canada; four grandchildren, Jacob Gordon, Benjamin Sousa, Sabryn Gordon and Zach Sousa; and many nieces and nephews.
Jose was a member of St. Michael’s Church and active in the Divino Espirito Santo. He worked for S&F Concrete for many years before his retirement in 2005.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday, March 16, from 4:00–7:00 p.m. at the Tighe Hamilton Funeral Home, 50 Central Street, Hudson. Funeral services for Jose will be held from the funeral home on Friday, March 17, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:00 a.m. in St. Michael’s Church, 21 Manning Street, Hudson, MA 01749. Burial will follow at St. Michael’s Cemetery in Hudson. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Vincent de Paul Society at St Michael’s Church.
