Barbara E. (Cutlip) Farro, a longtime resident of Charlestown and former 48 year resident of East Boston, passed away peacefully with her daughter Brenda at her side on Saturday, March 11, 2017 at the Lawrence Memorial Hospital in Medford following an extended illness. She was 85 years old.
Barbara was born in Charlestown on September 15, 1931, a daughter of the late Harold Cutlip and Bertha (Ridepout) Cutlip. She grew up in Charlestown where she was educated in the Boston Public School system and graduated from Charlestown High School in 1948. Barbara moved to East Boston in 1950 following her marriage to George L. Farro where they lived and brought up their family for the next 48 years. Following the death of her husband, Barbara moved back to her beloved Charlestown. She was a homemaker most of her adult life and enjoyed being in the kitchen where she loved to cook and bake. She also enjoyed shopping in her spare time.
Barbara is the beloved wife of the late George L. Farro. She is the devoted mother of Brenda Jean Farro, George L. Farro Jr. and the late Barbara E. Farro and Donna Marie Farro. She is the loving Nana to Nicholas, Christopher, Megan, Bianca, Brittney and her 4 great-grandchildren.
Barbara's Funeral Services and burial were held privately.
