NEW BEDFORD — Thomas E. Brooks, age 86 of Dartmouth, passed away Saturday March 11, 2017 at Savoy Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. He was the loving husband of Julita (Nazara) Brooks and the son of the late Thomas Eugene and Marie (Wagner) Brooks.
Born in Chicago, Illinois, he moved to this area 19 years ago and worked as a Carpenter for many years until his retirement.
Sgt Thomas E. Brooks proudly served our country in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean Conflict.
He is survived by his wife, Julita Brooks of Dartmouth; 7 children: Bryna Brooks of New Bedford, Jennifer Brooks and Diana Brooks, both of Dartmouth, Linden Brooks of Acton, Ma, Kendra Brooks of Providence, RI. Liam Brooks from Pawtucket RI and Jay Brooks of Lynn, Ma; as well as 12 grandchildren and 2 nieces.
Thomas was predeceased by his sister, Cartherine Zaborak.
Mr. Brooks will be cremated. Burial of his cremated remains will take place in Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne on Friday April 21 at 1:00 P.M. Arrangements were placed in the care of Perry Funeral Home 111 Dartmouth St. New Bedford, MA 02740.
