James C. Blackmon, 88, of Anderson died March 9, 2017 at Rawlins House in Pendleton.
He was born April 6, 1928 in Cullman, AL, the son of Ava Hendrix Blackmon.
He was a home builder then retired from American Federal Bank as a Building Inspector. He was an avid golfer and sports enthusiast.
He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Irene (Coffey) Blackmon; five children, Carla R. Grissom; Mitchell T. Blackmon; Michael R. (Debra) Blackmon, Randy Blackmon-Friedman (Bob); Sandy (Bill) Bryant; eleven grandchildren, Spencer Sokol, Tara Sokol, Angela Grant, Adam Blackmon, Chad Blackmon, Cogan Blackmon, Bailey Saengkeo, Bryce Blackmon, Ryan Knuckles, Justin Bryant, Dylan Blackmon-Friedman; seven great grandchildren, sister, Audrell Brown and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, March 14 at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to American Cancer Society.
