Elaine M. Bordonaro Palmacci of Medford passed away peacefully March 8, 2017, surrounded by her loving family. Elaine was the beloved wife of Eric A. Palmacci and the late Michael S. Bordonaro. Born in Cambridge she was the daughter of the late Anthony and Marie (DiCarlo) Carriere.

Elaine was a Medford resident for most of her life. She was a 1969 graduate of Medford High School. She then attended UMASS Boston where she earned her BS Degree in Education and later earned her Master's Degree in Education from Cambridge College. Elaine was a beloved teacher and educator for more than thirty years. She worked for most of those years in the Medford Public School System with many of those years she taught at the Lincoln Junior High School and also at the McGlynn School. In 2000 Elaine was the recipient of the Teacher of The Year Award in ancient world history, from the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. This was special distinction that Elaine and her family were so very proud of.

However, Elaine's greatest accomplishment was her family. Nothing gave her more joy than being the perfect mother to her children, always supporting their every need, keeping things organized and making sure that their home was always a warm and welcoming place. Elaine cherished spending every moment and almost every day with her grandchildren whom she just adored. She loved hosting the Holidays and making sure that every little detail was taken care of, from decorations for the home, the prepared food for the festivities, to the use of the fine china. Everything had to be perfect!

Elaine will fondly be remembered for her love of family, her love of her students and simply for her strength and helping others when things were tough. She was a strong woman who impacted many people and whose influence helped many family members and dear friends during difficult times. To them she will be remembered as somewhat of a Legend. She will be greatly missed.

In addition to her beloved husband Eric, Elaine is survived by her devoted children, Christine Burke and her husband Daniel of Melrose, and Bryan Bordonaro and his wife Cara of Seymour, CT. She was the loving mimi of Violet and Rose Burke, Arianna and Michael Bordonaro. Sister of the late Diane Keating and her surviving husband W. Robert Keating of Reading. Cherished sister-in-law of Vincent and Daryl Bordonaro, Robbin and Albert McKenzie and Robert and Michele Palmacci. She is further survived by many loving nieces, nephews, extended family and dear friends.

Funeral from the Dello Russo Family Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Thursday, March 16th, at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral Mass celebrated in the Immaculate Conception Church, 600 Pleasant St., Malden, at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours MONDAY, March 13th, from 4 - 8 p.m. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
