Carmine DelTrecco, Medford, formerly of Boston’s West End, passed away peacefully at his home, on Wednesday March 8th in Medford. He was 86.

Born in Boston’s West End, he was the son of the late Cesare and Elizabeth (Iannacchino) DelTrecco and attended local schools.

Carmine was a laborer with Local 22. He worked hard throughout his life to provide for his family. When he wasn’t working he loved to tend to his flower garden. His favorite flower was the rose, though he loved all the beautiful colors that the garden produced. Carmine also enjoyed working in his yard and always attempted to grow grass in the areas that were bare.

He loved to entertain at his home. Christmas was the biggest event of the year. Carmine enjoyed cooking and his children say that his signature dishes are baked stuffed lobster and eggplant parmesan.

When he was alone, Carmine enjoyed taking car rides, especially to the beach. He loved to clear his mind and take in the ocean air. It was his escape.

A man with charisma, he was an old fashioned gentleman. He was a kind man, very caring and gentle. Carmine couldn’t hurt a bug. He was always happy to share with those around him, and his family will look back on all the stories he shared with them as happy memories.

Carmine was a simple and humble man, who’s biggest joy was loving his family. He was always there for his wife, children and friends.

Carmine was the beloved husband of the late Mafalda (Genovese) DelTrecco, who passed away in 1970. The two shared twenty loving years of marriage. He was the devoted father of Caesar DelTrecco of NJ, Mario DelTrecco and his wife Caroline of N.Chelmsford, Paul DelTrecco of Medford, Carmine DelTrecco and his wife Adelia of Stoneham. He was the loving grandfather of Anthony, Nicholas and Michael DelTrecco. The dear brother of Alfred DelTrecco and his wife Patricia of Andover and the late Vincenzo DelTrecco and surviving wife Peggy of Boston, his is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

His funeral will be from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main Street, Medford, on THURSDAY, MARCH 16th at 9AM followed by a funeral service at St. Michael Cemetery Chapel, 500 Canterbury Street, Boston, at 11AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held on WEDNESDAY, MARCH 15th from 4 through 8PM.
